Pennarola’s Diamante at Eurobike

Pennarola was on hand at Eurobike this year to show off their latest top-end product – the Diamante – which features an Italian made frame handcrafted in Pennarola’s Turin, Italy based facility. The 960g, monocoque frame features a blend of carbon, Kevlar and titanium (CKT Technology) which the company says produces a frame that provides stiffness in areas that riders need it most. Stress tests of the frame simulating an 80kg rider show just 5mm of flex in the bottom bracket, and 2mm in the seat tube area. Tests also show a fork flex of just 7mm under extreme braking conditions. The Diamante will be available in 50, 53, 55, 57, and 59cm sizes, and will feature a special 20th anniversary paint scheme. The bike’s monocoque carbon fork will also bare the company’s 20th anniversary colors. Buyers of the Diamante can choose either a Campagnolo or Shimano setup, to go along with Mavic Ksyrium ES wheels. Total weight for the Diamante with Record 10s, comes in at a feathery – though still UCI legal – 6.8 Kg without pedals. A well equipped Diamate should cost buyers somewhere in the neighborhood of $7250.
