While at this year’s EUROBIKE, we paid a visit to the Trek booth to check out the new Madone 6.9. Let me just start by saying that as good as the press pictures are, they do no justice to the bike – it something you just have to see. While most of Treks other bikes were on racks, they dangled the Madone from a digital scale that was attached to a cable anchored to the TALL ceiling of the convention hall. As the bike swayed on its tether, you couldn’t help but feel it was floating in mid air – at 6.49 Kg, the point was well made. The new carbon only seat gives the bike an even higher-tech look, and the color-scheme / paint-design seemed fitting for a bike of its class. Wish we could offer up a more technical review, but rides were not a real option duriung the show give the number of people that would have jumped at the chance. More to come....
