Training Peaks has signed some pretty high-profile deals with groups like T-Mobile and the CEO Iron Man Challenge over the past month, but how does their software really stack up? PezCycling tackled that very question when they put Cycling Peak’s WKO+ software through its paces using a PowerTap SL power meter and a Polar s725 heart rate monitor (HRM). Overall, Pez had a very positive take on the software, primarily because it simplifies the data extraction process and automatically analyzes raw data downloaded from a training device. As soon as the data transfer is complete, a rider can examine parameters that include power distribution, peak average power, intensity factor, and training stress score. Other things Pez seemed to like were the ability to use the software with just about any training device on the market, as well as the capacity to share training data with other users via an online diary. The only downsides the reviewer mentioned were an inability to edit distance figures in the software (something we’ve seen in other software programs), as well as lack of support for MacOS. Over all Pez thought it was an “excellent software program” which they found “hard to come up with any major concerns about.”
