Interbike: Slipstreamz Spoiler to Reduce Wind Noise

Slipstreamz_Spoiler.jpg

Slipstreamz has made the news several times over the past year for the Slip, an ear cover which they say both reduces wind-noise and allows cyclists to listen to music. At this years Interbike, the company showed off a new piece of hardware, the Spoiler, which is again intended to reduce wind-noise (sorry no music on this one), but uses a much more compact design. The total size of the Spoiler is about 1.75" by 0.5" (4.5cm by 1.25cm), and it attaches to a riders forward helmet strap deflecting oncoming wind away from a riders ear, which is suposed to produce a quieter ride. Installation is a two step process where the rider makes an adjustment to the forward helmet strap, and then installs the Spoiler which slides over the trailing edge of the forward helmet strap. We got our hands on pair of these, and will be giving them a spin in the next couple of days. Stay tuned...
