With organic food becoming more and more popular, PowerBar has released a new Pria Bar line called Grain Essentials which contain 70% organic ingredients along with 8g of whole grains. Targeted toward female consumers, the new bars will contain 40% of women’s recommended daily calcium allowance, along with a special dietary fiber which can help boost calcium absorption. Grain Essentials will come in three flavors, Orchard Apple Cinnamon Crisp, Chocolate Almond Bliss, and Country Honey ‘N Oats, which will have between 160 and 170 calories depending on flavor. The bars are expected to retail for about $1.69, and will be available through major retailers. The company will also make samples available at Pria-sponsored Komen Race for the Cure breast cancer fundraising events.
