Marco Pantani Movie Coming To RAI This Spring?

Pantani.jpg

This spring Italy’s Raiuno TV station will pay tribute to the great Italian cyclist Marco Pantani by airing a made for TV drama that depicts the late riders life and cycling career. The film’s director, Caludius Bonivednto, says that the film will feature many highlights of Pentani’ career – including wins in the Giro and Tour – but that it will stop short of covering Pantani’s 2004 death. The film will feature Ronaldo Ravello as Pantani, and Nicolletta Romanov as Pantani’s fiancé. No word yet on whether the film will air on international Raiuno affiliates, or if it will be translated for an international audience. If not, Netflix might offer up some salvation via their international section…we hope.

Cycling.tv to offer coverage of la Vuelta

Cycling_TV.jpg

Cycling.tv announced that they will be covering the Vuelta this year, with live coverage of each stage, as well as access to on demand highlights after the race. While we had hoped the Vuelta would come as part of the annual package, it looks like its going to be marketed under a special subscription channel that will cost around 20 Euros or 25 USD. This makes the daily cost around about $1.20 USD – or less if you consider that OLN is a premium channel in some markets. As an added bonus, cycling.tv will offer subscribers of the Vuelta channel, a chance to win a Giant TCR bike.
